REVIEW: DermaBlend Smooth Indulgence Concealer in Almond

Photobucket

One of my favorite makeup products to purchase is concealer. I love finding concealers that are light and have great coverage! Today I wanted to share with you the newest concealer that I've added to my collection, the Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer! It's one of my absolute favorites of the moment.

I love concealers that come in squeeze tubes like this concealer does, because the product inside lasts longer since it's not being exposed to air. I also love it because then you can control how much product you want to be released, unlike concealers with a pump (like the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer) in which case, too much product is pumped out and ends up being wasted.

All in all, the packaging is very sleek and simple.

Photobucket

I love the formula of this concealer! It has great medium-buildable coverage. It's also very potent; even the tiniest pea size amount blends out to be enough to conceal under both eyes.

Even though it has great coverage, it still remains super light on the skin. If you've ever tried the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, it has a similar consistency in the sense that it's good coverage, yet light.

I have tiny lines under my eyes, so it's very common for me to notice that concealers settle into those fine lines. With this, I find that it only barely settles. I still have to make sure I set with a powder to prevent further creasing throughout the day.

As far as shades go, I ordered this online so I had to guess what shade I would be. I purchased the shade "Almond" because it was one of the lighter shades and was on sale for half off, but it ended up being too dark for me. Luckily, Almond, though it was too dark, has a strong salmon tone to it, which counteracts the blue tones in my under eye circles and when it's actually under my eye, it matches well, which is probably due to the light-ness of it and the fact that it blends so well into the skin. I usually end up using some kind of brightening concealer over top to brighten it up anyways, so it ends up working out.

Almond would be best for NC 35-40
Sand would be best for NC 20-25
Nude would be best for NC 15-20 - this would be the best shade option for me, since I favor lighter concealers.

The lasting power is decent, but not the best. It will start to fade within 4-5 hours on me, but I always have problems with concealers not lasting on me, so it might be different for you.

Photobucket
This concealer retails for $22 on SkinCareRx, which is where I purchased it. Some of the shades do go on sale for $11 from time to time. I've only ever seen that happen with the shades Almond, Honey, and Caramel.

SkinCareRx also always has some kind of sale going on (usually it's around 22% off certain products or 10% off total order), which is great. So if you plan to make an order from them, always check for sale items and coupon codes!

You get .3 fl. oz. of product.

The DermaBlend Smooth Indulgence Concealer had me at first swipe with it's high pigmentation, creamy consistency, and natural feel on the skin. It's been a concealer I've been reaching for over all my others recently. It covers my dark circles perfectly, without looking cakey or unnatural. It blends effortlessly into the skin, enough to make it unnoticeable that the shade I picked out was too dark for me. I haven't heard many people mention this concealer before, but I think it's such an amazing product and I hope this review helps spread the word and that all of you will give this a go if you're looking for a new concealer to try out! The only con is probably guessing your shade online. I know there's DermaBlend counters available in some department stores, so that's worth looking into if you'd like to purchase this. If not, the swatches on SkinCareRx are pretty accurate (I only purchased a darker shade on a whim, since it was on sale).

What's your favorite concealer at the moment? I'd love to know! Let me know in the comments below.

REVIEW: Makeup Forever Aqua Brow in #25 Ash

Hey everyone! So I'm super excited to share with you all my new favorite eyebrow product,
the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow! My brows are naturally black and pretty thick, so I chose is shade #25 Ash, as it was the darkest shade they had.

I never would do my brows until this past year and I never realized how much of a difference they make! They are such a crucial part to complete your look because they frame your face and give you a more polished overall appearance. With that being said, if you would have told me a year ago that I'd be using a cream product on my brows, I would have thought you were crazy. It does seem crazy, after all. A cream product on your brows? I know for me it sounded like it would give you fake, drawn on looking brows that looked ridiculously unnatural... The Makeup Forever Aqua Brow is a great reason to confirm the notion that you cannot judge a book by its' cover, because this product creates a defined, but natural looking brow that I just cannot get enough of!

I initially found out about this product after hearing so many great reviews on the Makeup Forever Brow Corrector (shade number 3, to be exact) and wanted to try it myself. When I went to purchase it, I found this little gem. I was curious because I wondered why Makeup Forever would release a product that sounded like virtually the same thing as their already existing, Waterproof Brow Corrector. I haven't tried it myself, but I believe the main differences are the lasting power, as well as the shade range. If you're interested in comparing reviews, here's a link to a review that one of my favorite bloggers, Cheryl, did of the Waterproof Brow Corrector!

Photobucket

Aqua Brow is a waterproof eyebrow corrector that fills, defines and lengthens brows. Formulated with volatile oil and carnauba wax, its creamy gel texture gives an even, natural result with a long lasting hold. The result remains flawless throughout the day and holds up under all conditions (water, heat, etc).
Aqua brow is available in 7 shades:
  • #10- Light Blonde
  • #15- Blonde
  • #20- Light Brown
  • #25- Ash
  • #30- Dark Brown
  • #35- Taupe
  • #40- Brown Black
Directions:
  • Apply a small amount of Corrector on the back of your hand or a spatula.
  • Use the slanted brush to fill in any sparse areas, then blend for a natural result.
  • Use the fine brush to make very precise corrections hair by hair, or for the brow tip.
  • Remove with a waterproof eye make-up remover.
Advice:
  • Choose a shade lighter than your brows as the product darkens very slightly as it dries.
Brows that are too dark can make the eyes look severe.
To fill in a gap, dot a small amount of product on to the skin with the tip of the slanted brush, then work it outwards using the full width of the brush.

Pro tip: it can also be used with a lash brush to tint gray hair, mustaches and graying sideburns.

Photobucket

The Makeup Forever Aqua Brow has amazing packaging, in my opinion. I'm so glad that they chose to house this in a squeeze tube rather than a gel-liner type jar. This makes it more sanitary and also makes the product last longer since the entire product isn't exposed to air every time you use it and thus drying out the product quicker.

The squeeze tube also makes it very easy to control the amount you want. You can really control how much comes out, so you never end up wasting any product. The best way to go with this is to use a little bit and take more as you go, until you get a feel of how much product you will need for both brows.

The packaging is tinier than I imagined it to be, but you get SO much product inside that little squeeze tube. It contains 0.23 oz of product.

Photobucket

The Aqua Brow has a creamy, gel-like consistency, so a little bit of this stuff goes a very long way. It is intensely pigmented, so this will create opaque coverage on your eyebrows, making it perfect for people who need to fill in empty spaces/gaps because it will give the illusion that you have hair in that area.

I feel like this product is very versatile. You can create very natural looking brows, but you can also give them a more dramatic, sharp look as well. My preference with brows falls somewhere in the middle between natural and dramatic. I like them to be well defined, but not look drawn on like sharpie brows (this term makes me laugh, hehe). This product gives me that happy medium, hence why I have fallen in love with it. Before this, I was going back and forth between the MAC eyeshadows in Brun and Mystery to fill in my brows, but it didn't give me the precise-ness that I needed.

I purchased this from Sephora (not sure where else you can get this) and currently they only have 3 shades available: #10 Light Blonde, #15 Blonde, and #25 Ash. I purchased #25 Ash, since it was the darkest available and my brows are black. Unfortunately, the color was not an exact match. As you can see in the before and after photo (see below), it's about 2-3 shades lighter than my actual brow color. A good rule of thumb for brows has always been to go about 1-2 shades lighter than your natural brow color, so it doesn't bother me that it's lighter. In fact, I've actually noticed that my brows seem too strong for my face and I've been contemplating lightening them up a shade or two, so if I choose to do so, this shade will match perfectly. I still wear it regardless and it still works and looks like a good enough shade match.

*Another thing to keep in mind is that in the before and after photo, it looks like the product is warm-toned and leans red, but it does NOT do that in person. It is a very neutral, ashy brown in person, so that must have been caused my camera settings somehow. So all in all, I'd reccomend #25 Ash for people with medium-dark brows, until you can get your hands on some of the other darker shades. The dark brown shade would probably be a more accurate match for my current natural brow shade, but like I said, I will probably be lightening my brows in the near future.

The lasting power of this stuff is incredible. It doesn't fade at all throughout the day. It looks exactly the same at the end of the day as it does when you first apply it. As far as the waterproof claims go, it truly is waterproof. I love that I can touch my brows and not have to worry about the product smearing or moving. It's also great because brows are one of those things you shouldn't have to reapply throughout the day and you'll never run into that problem with this.

Photobucket

The Aqua Brow retails for $20 at Sephora.com. I'm not sure where else you could purchase this.
As I mentioned earlier in the post, you do get 0.23 oz of product. A tube of this would easily last you up to a year, if not longer, because you only need the tiniest amount of product.

Photobucket

Left: That's typically how much I would put on my hand for both brows-just to show you how little you really need.
Right: What it looks like after I'm done using this on my brows.

Photobucket

I am absolutely in love with the Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow. I can easily say it is my Holy Grail Eyebrow product and I can't see myself finding something else that suits my needs better. I've tried brow powders, brow pencils, even another gel-like brow product and nothing compares. I love the fact that they have such a diverse shade range, even though Sephora doesn't carry all 7 shades yet (you might be able to find the other shades somewhere else. If you know of somewhere, please let us know in the comments!) This product would suit so many people, not only because of the extensive shade range, but because you can really change up the look you want to create, depending on the amount of product you use, how you apply it, and also the brush you use. I use a Sephora Angled Brow Brush to apply it. So even if you're a fan of more natural brows, don't be afraid of this just because of the consistency! Natural or dramatic, Aqua Brow can make it happen. So if you're in the market for a new eyebrow product, I definitely recommend this. Next time you're in a Sephora, at least get a sample to try out! Just remember, if you do use this and use the back of your hand as a palette, please remember to wash it off your hand. I can't tell you how embarrassing it is to leave it there and be asked what exactly the brown stain on the back of your hand is... ;)

Have you used the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow? What's your favorite eyebrow product? Let me know in the comments!

REVIEW: RED-E Instant All-In-One Hair Treatment

Today's post is going to be on a hair product that I've been loving lately, the RED-E Instant All-In-One Hair Treatment! It's one I had never heard about prior to using it and have never seen anyone else talk about within the beauty community, so it's my pleasure to share this product with you today!

Photobucket

Red-E-To Go Hair Treatment is the all-in-one instant hair treatment that reconditions dry, damaged hair.

  • Red-E-To Go is the all-in-one instant hair treatment that reconditions dry, damaged hair.
  • Eliminate split ends and detangles.
  • Gives natural body, shine, and silkiness in a single application.
It also claims to do 9 different things (see photo of back of product above) which are:
  • Controls frizz
  • Promotes silkiness
  • Eliminates split ends
  • Curtails hair breakage
  • Locks and seals in color
  • Acts as a shine enhancer
  • Nourishes dry, damaged hair
  • Accentuates hairs natural body
  • Acts as a flat and curling iron thermal protector

Photobucket

This product is housed in a sleek, red tube. I'm not too fond of the color scheme, but I love that the product is released in a spray nozzle. I feel like you get more even coverage on your hair when you can spray, instead of it just bunching up in one area of your hair.

Photobucket

Because this hair treatment comes with a spray nozzle, I expected this to be a more liquid-y product. It is actually more of a cream consistency, almost like conditioner. Because of this, I feel like it's very easy to go overboard with this and end up weighing down your hair and/or giving it a greasy/dirty texture. Therefore, a little goes a long way with this. When I first started using this, I did not like it because I felt like it made my hair feel very dirty, even though I had just washed my hair. I found that I was using too much product and when I began to use less, I fell in love.

It makes my hair very soft and shiny and I noticed that when I wash my hair since using this, right after I wash it, my hair feels so incredibly soft. Usually, after I wash my hair it feels very dry and being that I haven't changed anything in my hair routine besides adding this, I know I have this hair treatment to thank!

I've also noticed that my split ends are less apparent when using this, which is great because I have horrible split ends normally. This also reduces my frizz a great deal and has replaced me having to use a hair serum in my hair!

I definitely can see this product changing the overall condition of my hair with continued use, as I have seen a great deal of improvement already with only a couple weeks worth of use so far.

I also want to mention that this products claims are similar to the It's A 10 Miracle Leave In Product. I've never tried that before myself, but that's something to consider if you're looking for a similar product or if that product didn't work for you, maybe this one will.

Photobucket

The Red-E Instant All in One Hair Treatment retails for $20 on Folica.com for 8 fluid oz. of product. Because of the fact that a little goes a long way, this product will end up lasting you a long time. I'm the kind of person that doesn't like to spend a lot of money on a hair product so that, in my opinion, justifies the price of this product. I will definitely be purchasing this when I run out!

Photobucket

The Red-E Hair Treatment has become a staple in my hair routine. My hair is very dry and damaged, so I love that this product has the ability to make my hair feel healthy and shiny again. It's a great hair treatment! I've only been using this product for about a month now and I've already seen results, so I can only imagine how it will effect my hair in the future. My only qualm with this product, is the fact that too much can really weigh your hair down and give it a dirty feeling texture, so if you purchase this yourself, definitely keep that in mind!

Photobucket

This product was sent to me by Folica.com for consideration. This does not in any way effect my views on the product. As always, these are my 100% honest opinions based on my personal experience.

REVIEW: REVLON Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup

Hey guys! I'm back today with a long awaited review of Revlon's newest foundation, the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup. I'm a huge fan of cream foundations, as I love the full coverage and oil control they typically have, so I was extremely excited to try out this foundation. I do admit, it was a tough foundation to figure out. The texture was one that I had never come across before, so I found that I really had to work with this foundation and find the best ways to apply it for it to work for me. In the end, I have fallen in love with this and dare I say it, but it may just have passed up the Boots No. 7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation as my holy grail foundation! But more on that later... Now on to the review!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.

-Buildable to full coverage for flawless skin
-Soft, matte finish all day long
-Withstands heat and humidity – great for summer -Comes in 16 beautiful shades *Also claims to last for 24 hours

Photobucket
I have a love/hate relationship with the packaging of this foundation. I love the design of it. It's held in a glass container, with a plastic lid. It's very sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. It is a tad bulky, yes, but that doesn't bother me as I usually don't lug around my foundation for touch ups anyways. What I hate about the packaging is that there's so much glass surrounding the actual foundation, that when it comes to color matching, you can barely make out the correct shade in the bottle and it makes all the shades look virtually the same. I also hate that this packaging only contains .8 ounces of product, whereas a typical foundation usually has 1 ounce. All in all, I find it very sleek and nice looking, so the pros outweigh the cons as far as packaging is concerned.

Photobucket
The texture of the Whipped Creme Foundation is very unusual. It almost has a cool whip like texture, only slightly thicker. The formula is thick enough that if you turn the bottle upside down, it won't pour out right away. Though it might seem a tad bit thick, it blends out beautifully and ends up being a rather light feeling finish.

When the foundation is on the skin, I don't find that it has a matte finish at all. In fact, the end result is rather dewy, if you ask me. I have oily skin and would not be able to wear this without setting it with powder. Also, the foundation takes a couple minutes to completely set into the skin. The longer you can wait to set the foundation, the better. I would recommend waiting around 5 minutes for this to set before setting with a powder or applying other products to the face to allow it to set into the skin. As the day goes on and the more the foundation has time to set, it looks better. It literally looks better the longer you have it on, as crazy as that may seem. When I go to take this off at night, I find myself being hesitant to wash my face because it just looks that damn good. With that being said, I'm not sure if it would last 24 hours because I'm not crazy enough to wear it for that long, but I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say it probably would last almost that. I've worn it at most for 12 hours and had no problems with fading.

The coverage is definitely medium, but can be built up for more coverage. (Keep reading to see a detailed description of how I apply this.) Also, how you apply this depends on the amount of coverage you will have as well. If you use your fingers, it will given you a lighter application. A brush, however, will pack on more product.

One of my favorite things about this foundation is how well it controls oil. I rarely have to blot when I wear this. Maybe once a day, if that. I LOVE that.

As far as shades goes, like I mentioned before, it was pretty hard to find my shade. If you know the shade you are in Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation, it should be exactly the same within this foundation. Revlon Colorstay was my go-to foundation before I discovered my Boots No. 7 foundation, but I couldn't remember my shade. I was around NC 20 when I first purchased this foundation and I picked the shade Sand Beige. It was a good match, but lacked the yellow pigment I needed for it to be a complete match to my skin tone. I'm now on my second tube and since I have been self tanning, I needed a darker shade. I'm a NC 30 now and wanted to get the shade Warm Golden, which I'm pretty sure is my accurate color match, but they didn't have that shade when I purchased it again, so I went with Medium Beige, which is exactly the same as Sand Beige, so again, really hard to pick a shade. Next time, I will definitely be going for Warm Golden.
If you're wondering how this compares to the Boots No. 7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation, it has a more dewy finish, but it has better staying power and way better oil control. It also does not transfer like the Boots foundation does. It feels thicker as well. I love both for different reasons, but lately I've gravitated more towards the Revlon one!

Photobucket
Depending on where you purchase this foundation, it ranges from $10-14. I found this for $10.99 at Walmart and $12.99 at Target. Walmart does not carry the shade Warm Golden from what I have seen, so that's something to keep in mind. Always be sure to check for coupons before purchasing this foundation! Revlon almost always has a couple coupons in rotation. The first time I purchased this, I got $5 off because of coupons!

HOW I APPLY REVLON COLORSTAY WHIPPED CREME MAKEUP:

As I stated before, I really had to work with this foundation to figure out the best way to wear it. I've also noticed that a lot of people had the same problems as well, so I thought I'd share how I apply it to achieve a flawless, matte finish.

Photobucket

Photobucket

1. Using my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki (F80) i dip the brush into the foundation and then I stipple the product around my face until it's evenly distributed.

2. I start at one area of my face at a time and blend using circular motions.

3. After I apply that first layer, my skin tone is even and all that is left to be covered is acne/blemishes. If you need more skin tone coverage, apply a second layer. Since I don't, I take my concealer and apply that where ever I have the problem areas (I don't blend it out yet). Then I take my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki again and pounce it up and down on the areas where I applied concealer. This blends it into the skin without wiping the product away as swiping the brush would. After that, I repeat this, but instead of using concealer, I take apply a tiny bit of the foundation onto my problem areas the same way. (I do this so that you can't see the shade difference between the concealer and foundation, since I did pick up a color that did not match me.) I apply concealer under my eyes as well at this point.

4. I let the foundation settle into my skin for about 5 minutes. During this time, I'll usually do my eye makeup or start doing my hair. After that, I take my powder of choice. I found that the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Powder went amazingly with this foundation. I use an ElF Flat Top Powder Brush and use patting motions to apply.

Photobucket

The Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup has become one of my favorite foundations. I absolutely love the way it looks on my skin, how it wears, and how well it controls my oil. It has a nice flawless, airbrushed finish and gives great coverage. If you're more of a tinted moisturizer, light foundation type of person, this foundation may not suit you. It's better for people who prefer a bit more coverage. This can work for all skin types, because while it does have great moisturization and have a dewy finish, when set with a powder, it has a great matte finish and stays matte throughout the day (I wore this on some pretty hot days too!). It's a great drugstore foundation and it's worth a try. Just remember, it is a bit troubling to work with at first. Try it out different ways and figure out what works best for you!

Have you tried the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup? What did you think of it?

August Favorites!

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm here today to show you all my favorite beauty products for the month of August! Let me just start off by saying, I'm so glad that this month is over. It was a super stressful month because I discovered a college near me that had the exact major/program I want to get into so I decided last minute to transfer. But the reason I'm most excited, is because that means FALL is right around the corner, and I'm obsessed with Fall :)

I have quite a bit of products to share with you all this month. As you know, I don't post these "Favorites" every month, since a lot of the time, I stick with the same products. So I usually just do them whenever I have different products in my beauty rotation!

Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama: I was really late on the bandwagon with this mascara. I picked it up on a whim and I'm glad I did. I love it. However, I hated it at first. The formula was so wet, it did nothing at all for my lashes. I let it sit for about a week and left it open for a couple minutes a couple times to allow the air to thicken up the product. Now I absolutely love it. I always layer my mascaras and this one is the last one I use, because it thickens my lashes. It can clump and give you spidery lashes if you don't use a separating mascara before it it, so watch out for that.

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Light: This product is a longtime favorite of mine. I bought this SO long ago, but with this concealer, it's so pigmented that a little bit goes a LONG way and the tube ends up lasting you a really long time. In fact, they've even changed the packaging since I bought this. I will purchase this again and again. I love it so much. It covers so well, while being very light on the skin. I use it under my eyes and I don't find that it creases or looks cakey ever. I'm dying to try Kat Von D's new foundation as well.

MAC Mineralized Blush in Warm Soul: I'm pretty sure this was in my last favorites post as well, but what can I say? I absolutely love it. It's the perfect summer blush. It gives the most beautiful peachy, bronzy glow and it looks TO DIE FOR with a tan (but any skin tone can pull it off.) If you don't own this blush, you need it. It's one of those must have MAC products!

Photobucket

MAC Lipstick in Blankety: This is one of my favorite nude lipsticks. Well, it's more of a pinky nude, but it's one of those nudes that looks great on any skin tone because it's not super light. I've been reaching for this one a lot because it goes with anything, it's very flattering, and mostly because it's SUPER creamy and moisturizing. My lips have been so dry lately and this lipstick is like a tube of butter running across your lips. This lipstick look would great on ANY skin tone. I use this when I'm super pale and I know people who have dark skin who love this as well.

NYX Lipliner in Nude Beige: This is one of my go-to lipliners for nude lipsticks. It's literally the same shade as MAC Honeylove lipstick, which is one of my favorites. If you have the ELF Conditioning lip balm, it's also practically the same shade as that as well. I use this with an array of nudes, though. Whenever I'm wearing a nude lip, I'm wearing this as well.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny: This past month, I was too busy to keep up with tanning and my HG MAC Blunt was getting too muddy looking on my pale skin, so I tried this since it's significantly lighter. I love this. It gives a very natural contour, which is what I use it for and it doesn't run orange at all. I also like that you can build up the color for more intensity, which I was skeptical about because it is so light.

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara: I've also been loving this mascara this month. It is the second mascara (out of 3, not including a lash primer) that I use in my mascara routine. I love it because it does a great job at lengthening and separating. It never gets clumpy either.

Photobucket

MAC Eyeshadow in Kid: I love using this as a transition color or just a no brain-er color to swipe in the crease when I'm in a rush. It's more a neutral light brown and the texture of it is sooo incredibly soft. It's the creamiest MAC shadow I own.

MAC Eyeshadow in Cork: I've been using this shadow in conjunction with Kid for a natural, everyday look. After I apply Kid with a fluffy crease brush, I pop this in the crease as well with a tapered blending brush. This is just a nice, midtone brown. I normally would use Wedge, but this is slightly darker, which I like.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Maybelline Age Rewind Powder: I have finally found my HG drugstore powder after about a year of searching for a cheaper equivalent to my beloved MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural. This provides the same kind of finish of looking natural, but still giving my face a flawless appearance while keeping my oil at bay. It has a slight shimmer in it, but it's not noticeable on the face and considering that element, I'm suprised at how good it is at oil control. I also love this because I was searching for a powder that went well with the Revlon Whipped Cream foundation because I was having trouble making it work for me and this made me fall in love with that foundation. The worst part of it all, is that I'm pretty sure this is being discontinued :(

Revlon Whipped Cream Foundation in Sand Beige: I won't say much about this because I have a review of this foundation coming soon, but I will say that I had the hardest time getting this product to work. After experimenting with it and finding the best way to apply it/what products to use with it, I am absolutely in love with it. It gives the most amazing finish to the skin!

Loreal Future-E Moisturizer + a Daily Dose of Pure Vitamin E: I'm pretty picky with moisturizers because I want them to provide adequete moisture, but I also want it not be light enough to not contribute to the amount of oil I get during the day and this really hit the nail on the head. I love this stuff. I can't tell what it is about it, but I feel like it's improved the overall appearance of my skin somehow, which I think may be due to the pure vitamin E as well as other beneficial ingredients. I haven't heard anyone talk about this before, but I definitely think it's a great moisturizer. My boyfriend has dryer skin and he loves this as well, so it's universal as well. My only complain is that my hands feel really sticky after applying.
